Jeez, I get back from duck hunting and cleaning everything and so much has happened.

Holt congrats on a great buck! I'm curious on the shoulder hit deer too.

Have let my cameras soak for a week with zero pressure and only 2 small 6's during shooting hours. Few does. Mom still paired up with fawns. Really slow here too

In the stand with a solid 9mph wind from the south west and it's about 55 degrees

You should see the buck I already entered in the contest! That is the normal sized buck I go after. I just had 2 tags and wasn't going to waste my season by only hunting 1 buck. But the second tag was for the big boy or none!

We've seen the same thing here in Ogle county.

I would've never thought that there were that size deer in Maryland. Maybe I've missed something and you didn't kill it in MD.

It is absolutely hilarious watching does interact with a doe decoy. They hate this thing. I am off doe patrol for the time being, so it is all good!

Depends on the doe. Some will get aggressive and stomp and try to get closer, some will spook pretty easily? I have had 3 bucks get interested in her over the last 4 or 5 seasons? Haven't closed the deal. Just strange happenings. Mainly operator error!

Figured I should update you guys. I waited 4 hrs and took up the trail. Found the arrow 80 yds away with about 4" of penetration. There was some bubbles in the blood so we decided to sit another 30 minutes. Followed decent blood for 300 yds and then stop completely. We grid searched the thicket he was headed into with no luck. With no beds after 300+ yards and not seeing the deer for another 200 yds we decided to call it.

I would just like to say my farewell. There is a good chance I might get blown away in this wind.
