Saw a doe off in the distance. Other wise nothing going on here right now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Switch stand. The wind was beating me up on the edge of the bean field. Seen 2 small bucks there. Walked across the field to the other spot kinda down in a valley in between 2 bedding areas. Gets me out the wind. Starting to think the bucks might be locked down on does.
Nothing here yet. Got in late after bloodwork. No i need to see blood here. My wife actually thought of this. " Its not hump day, its Trump day!". I was actually impressed.
Rain finally quit and I've been up since 930. Have til 3. Hope the bucks get up on their feet I'm deep out here and I doubt anyone else has been out here. Found like 5 used doe beds on a little point off the ravine I'm working. Hope they pay off.
Do you guys keep rotating stands during the rut or pick the one with the best deer movement and hunt it everyday. I know wind factors some with bedding areas. Just wondering what other people do. I have been rotating.
What happened to the N wind that was supposed to blow all day. It's now blowing into the bedding area to my west.
I've been watching this since Monday - when action was awesome. Now ya'll have your spots quiet today and it's making me sad. Leaving work early today and tomorrow for afternoon sits. Hoping for something to stumble pass.
Starting to rain pretty good here. Climbed down to put rain gear on, now I'm back up. Hope this nasty weather gets the big boys moving.
Pink Pony....rut behavior will explode the next 5 days and you won't miss anything. Temp drops are gonna bring dead dear this next 5 days. Good luck!
I try to concentrate on an area I know holds big deer (or whatever deer ur targeting) and hunt that central area per the wind.
Just had what I think was the deer I'm after sneak in behind me Along creek bank where it's insanely thick never got a good look all I could see were white tines threw the brush. He got by without ever even giving me a good look. Got me all excited
I got down and moved my set. The wind was just cutting it too close to the deer for my liking. I moved a little ways in towards the river. If it happens in here I won't have much time to see them coming. Up close and personal.
