Dad called to tell me a tall 8 headed up and over past my AM stand behind their house this morning. By his best guess, I would have had a 5-10yd shot.

Why do I have to work again?

this afternoon I got winded by a nice eight about 140". then at 3:00 I saw another shooter chasing a doe far away from my location. sitting the same spot in the morning. heck I left my bow on the holder with the release still hooked on in the tree. less to carry on the treacherous river crossing.

Came close to getting it done this afternoon on a decent 8 point. Back at it in the morning.

You're due, you hunt too hard not to be rewarded.

You wearing the boonie? Just realized I shot last years buck on the 7th as well, boonie will be worn on the 7th every year now

I wore the boonie last night for the first time and I wore it today. Within an hour of climbing the stand I almost got it done today. Just have to keep pounding where I hunt.

I didn't do a trail cam this year as I didn't plan on many sits outside of the rut.

Guy who got pics of the buck I shot this morning showed me his number 2 lister. Still another good one out there

Good all day sit today, evening was good a couple bucks and a few doe came to the decoy. Unfortunately the deer kept coming and I was stuck in the stand. Its going to be a short night, back at it in the morning.

Bumped a deer as I was walking in this afternoon, it was about 250 yards from my stand. Not sure what it was as it moved into thick cover as I caught a glimpse of its tail end. Other then that deer, that was all I saw this evening. Bummer but I'll be out Friday, Saturday and Sunday for all day sits and finally the weather looks good!
