Jeez, ever have one of those morning walk ins where you felt like a bull in a china shop? It's like I had a broken branch attached underneath my boot.
Just had a big 7 pt walk by at 10 yards. He gets a pass today. I wasn't even set up completely and he came by at first light.
What a long walk. Sheesh, now I remember why Ive never made the trek before the sun is up. In stand, two WTF moments already. Was trying to get a handle on my timing on the way here and started freaking out. After 45 seconds I realized I hadn't adjusted the clock in the truck yet Second was on the way to stand. Rounded a bend and a lotnof commotion about 20 feet away. Hown the headlamp that way and seen the eyes, then it stood up and kept getting taller. Early morning not quite awake moment and bit of confusion. Then realized it was just a raccoon climbing a small tree looking at me. Good luck everyone
Really like this spot, uncle said he has killed some big bucks here. Down in the calley where 2 ridges slope down a long ridge to the back of me and aheavy creek crossing off to my east. Sadly I have no idea where they come from in the mornings. Gotta see them before they see me. 18 minutes forbthe story to start unfolding. Had a deer start blowing shortly after getting in stand.
Have chasing going on about 80 yards from me. Appears to be small bucks but hard to tell. The squirrels are extra loud today.
