Currently sitting on my deck, talking myself in and out of going hunting tonight. Temps don't bother me but the wind switching directions every gust does.

Just stepped outside its a lot warmer than I realized, Ill probably still hunt, but my expectations are dropping a little.
Not wasting the gas to go sit in 80* temps...I'll wait and got all day tomorrow when it is 20-25* cooler... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yeah, the weather isn't helping my motivation but since I have some expensive camera equipment sitting in a tree its shower time. Probably be covered in sweat by the time i get in my tree.
One doe this morning. Yard work to do rest of the day and then plan to sit most or all of tomorrow. Sent from my XT1080 using Tapatalk
I had to switch stands. Wind is much better here. Im trying to get better about leaving when the wind gets wrong.
Weather went from 80 degrees yesterday to high of 50 today and it rained all morning...grateful to be in a tree Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have sat in my stand when the wind direction was what they said it would/should be, and then watch it switch from all different directions, then go back to where it was coming out of originally. I won't move when this goes on, because I'd spend all my time moving and not hunting.
Hopefully you'll be rewarded tc, I'm set up in the tree i almost fell from this morning, i have about the same wind as when a buck came through on Monday at last light on a scrape...hoping for the best
And i already a doe and two fawn come say hi as i was getting up, they ran back where they came from but tails down and no blowing lucky for then i didn't have my release on our an arrow nocked
I have a love/hate relationship with cameras. I'm walking out this morning and I checked one of my cams that is by a set that I haven't hunted this year. On it was a big 10 that I don't think I've saw before, and in the daylight. Worst of it was that I was hunting that evening in a different set and had considered hunting this set before changing my mind. Sometimes you're just better off not knowing. Wind is forcast to change. It just changed four hours too early. I am in a saddle slash bottle neck on top of a ridge full of acorns with seven old log roads intersecting in front of me. Actually im starting to pull my cams out. I already have inventory of resident bucks. I know they are here somewhere.
I had this happen this week, sometimes you are better not knowing because you wind up beating yourself up.
Got a little swear going but I'm finally oh stand. Hunt the downwind side of a laurel thicket. We shall see.
What does it mean when u cross a black cat in the woods the weekend before Halloween? Lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Been there done that... last year thought about hunting over a scrape and decided to go to a different area.. pulled the card over the scrape on my way out and sure enough had a nice buck over it that same morning!
Well it's windy and hot but I decided to give it a shot tonight. At least the gusting wind is keeping it somewhat cool.
