Finally got my forst sit of the season in this morning. No cell signal there this year for some reason.

Anyhow a brief run down. Got in stand 15 minutes before shooting light. 1/2 hour later, 15 minute before official sunrise, seen 3 of the dogs about 40 yds away on my scent trail. One broke out into a bawl and bumped an unknown deer. Was downwind anyway so no harm, no foul. Shortly after the other two silently left for the rest of the day.

About 7am had a tiny doe fawn step out at 15 yds, short time later mama stepped out and she was rpretty small as well. Sat there contenplaring whether to take the biggest but reluctant for both their sizes. Decision was made for me as 2 or 3 other does started blowing from downwind, they went on alert and off they went back into the thick stuff.

About 20 after 8 had a small fork/spike about 40yds away behind some shrubbery.

Climbed down at 10:30 and headed home. Had to get boat and trailer titles transferred into my name which became an ordeal in itself and when I headed to the courthouse I went ahead and early votes as well. One less thing to worry about during my rutcation.

All that said, I have had the feeling all day long I am going to put down aomething special this year. Even with baying hounds and iffy temps.

Live from the middle of a soybean field lol too hot to walk back into the woods on the other farm, so I decided to have a nice sit in the middle of the beans facing the woods, little did I know the sun would be bearing down on me like crazy, it's a little hot out oh I have the smoke pole out tonight but it would have to be a nice buck for me to shoot with the muzzleloader

I would still try it. It takes a lot of juice to roll the motor over compared to run a few little lights.

That doesn't mean much honestly. All the dash lights will come on your truck/car until starter tries to draw the amps to crank the engine.

Check all connections for looseness/corrosion. Tighten and clean if anything found and try again. If not I would bet your battery is bad or the charging system is faulty and the battery is dead.

Yeah, not letting it bother me this year. They're out in the woods every day, doubt it is anything new for the deer. I'm pretty much only hunting the rut this year so that evens the odds up a bit.
