Yeah it sucks. But there will still be some bucks on their feet in the mornings I believe. I just need some north or east winds and I think it'll happen.

Good idea. I'll be out starting the 5th. I need North and/or West wind.
    Good Luck!

I did grab my cams on the way out. Turns out all my big shooters show up at my stand about 30-45 mins after I leave. (Jerks)

Had another potential shooter come in behind me tonight and hang up. I don't get it. I'm having more sits with deer on edge this year than any other year. He wasn't downwind, either. Just very edgy.

Been there, what kind of terrain? Sure evening thermals aren't messing with ya a little bit?

Very hilly, but this stand is on top of a ridge. It drops off to my south, but he came in from the north (North wind). It was basically calm, so if there was an elevation change, thermals would definitely be a concern, but he was essentially on the same flat.

I think he may honestly have picked up my trail earlier since he was coming from the general direction I entered.

Those thermals dropping could have definitely caused that to happen . Even a alight wind or elevation change could have your scent sliding around. Matt you are gonna drill a big one this season.

ended up seeing eight bucks yesterday on my afternoon sit. when I got down at the base of my tree packing up to leave I looked up and seen an absolute monster heading straight for me. got dark to quick to even think about a shot if he got close enough. I eased him off without spooking him to badly. heck the last two sits I've seen 16 bucks cruising. looks like the rut is going to be on time! monsoon rain here if it quits or lightens up I'm heading out.

Had a skipper doe in front of me at 20yds last evening, let her walk. Supposed to rain all day in NJ so today is deer butchering day. Already caped him out yesterday and put him in the freezer. Time for burger, steak and stew!

Just had something come in and work the scrape I'm sitting over.. still to dark to tell what it was. Probably a small buck. Traik cam will let me know. Good sign I guess.
