It's like 20,000 acres of public land lol look it up or the Woodbury wildlife area, or look up salt fork state park in Ohio that's also another 20,000 acre public land that I hunt, but it has a 3,000 acre lake (if I'm correct on the size) and a golf course on it so not all 20k acres is huntable

tc racing is trying to make a lot of people call in sick

I'm going out Friday, let it sit Saturday and Sunday and all day sit on Monday. Can't take hunting vicariously any longer

haha!! I'm out now. that was exciting. two of the eight points I seen were decent for my area. just not what I'm after. it's only going to get better each day from here on out. give it a few days before calling off work.

Can't believe you held out this long! There have been some nice, cool days to get out.
I think I'm sitting this weekend out, 81 and windy on Saturday, no thanks.

I was going to go out this past Saturday, low got down to 36 and I overslept. Still kicking myself a bit.

I'm going into the start of the rut completely energized and no idea what to expect. I do a lot of all day sits, due to length of travel, even when it's not conducive to do so.

Hoping by waiting this long I won't get discouraged as fast or shoot the first marginal buck that offers the shot

Yep, Saturday i underdressed and was freezing. But I drilled a doe and the neighbor said he saw 14 deer. My dad also killed a doe.
But I hear ya, I don't want to get burnt out either. My vacation starts on the 10th and I want to be rested.
But now I just checked the weather at my Wisconsin spot and the high is 54, damn!

Don't know about the granddads but the dads are out. Buddy shot a hog this morning. This guy got UN a 3-way Fight with 2 small 4-5pts then made his way up to a neighboring farm where he met this buddies friend. The "wide-8" is off the hit list
