These big woods are quite humbling. I've had 1 deer in range all season. Makes the reward that much sweeter.

Okay. Easy wall hanging main frame 10 pops up. I get all ready to go, he's about 40 yards and coming my way, need about 30 to feel safe with the shot. SOB turns and starts walking straight across from me at like 40 yards and starts to make a scrape. Then he starts to head out into a field with a doe I get hidden by a big oak tree (forgot to put scent out so I left the stand to do so and he appeared before I returned) and hit a grunt call and he stops dead in his tracks. The oak blocked his whole front half so all I could see what his back end. He stopped and I assume looked my way then continued out to the doe so I did an angry grunt and he stopped and turned around, then walked away from the doe and completely into view and threw up his tail and trotted across the field. Needless to say I feel sick

It's raining cats, dogs, and small farm animals here, this morning. I was really looking forward to sitting in a light rain, or drizzle.......but not a hard rain. Good luck to you guys that made it out.

I'm trying it for the first time this year... I'm a believer (at least for does/young bucks.

I've had countless times this year where the deer come directly down my trail and didn't spook once. I had a 6pt come directly down my trail last Saturday morning - I got to the stand that afternoon and hadn't been there 10 minutes, that 6 point comes to the base of my tree and just meanders around.

Big bad monster of the dark was a field mouse. Keeps coming out and taking a kernel of corn. Raccoon on the field edge, last time I seen one of them hunting I shot my nuck last year.

First set of the season. Dr. Appt. This afternoon for shoulder. Thought I'd get a hunt in before then. What a beautiful morning! SQUIRRELS... there's a ton of them.

Light on and off sprinkle here... Just enough to turn the deer into ninjas when walking threw the woods... Heck there could be a small 6 point helping me type this for all I know... Darn ninja deer.

Starting to sprinkle. Hate being discouraged an hour into shooting light, not due to rain. The deer just don't want corn

Saw about twenty deer on the 10 minute drive to the babysitter's this morning. That's as close to hunting as it's goi to get for me until halloween
