I agree, like I said, mark last blood then just go ahead and go search the nearest cover or water. Then this evening if you still haven't found him, set up and listen for the yotes, they will lead you right to him...
Looking at the angle he was running at, I wouldn't be surprised if he (A) circled back and went into one of those small patches of trees or (B) cut back to the block of woods that you were hunting in. Those look like two options that I would strongly consider. But this aerial may also be totally different than what what the ground looks like and I could be way off base.
I would check the western field edge for blood. See if he doubled back to where he felt safe. Walk that edge slowly looking for blood waist high and low.
From what I've seen/heard, I also think that buck is dead. Probably in some thick stuff and or near water.
By doubled back I meant headed back towards the woods to the west. Not sure how well you know this buck, but if you have knowledge on where he beds and likes to hang out head there as well. Beans cut he's not likely to have tried bedding in the open or he would still be there. As stated also, if there is a creek running through them woods walk it as well. 4 guys, 30-50 yards apart you should be able to find him pretty quick.
Good luck brother!!! Good looking buck you have there. Can't wait for the hero shots. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
