Shot a big buck right at dark. Deer ran a pretty good ways across a bean field after the shot. I found my arrow broken in half and covered up to the nock with blood with some bubbles. Shot looked far back to me. Maybe I got one lung. I'm backing out until morning. I'll post pics of arrow soon as I get home.
We ended up seeing 7 bucks. None old enough to shoot. The coolest of the bunch was a spike still in full velvet.
The shot was broadside at 32 yards. Deer ran about 200 yards across a bean field then starting walkig. He was flickering his tail when I lost site of him.
Dead deer! I think one lung and maybe some liver. Regardless, dead deer. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's going to be 30 here tonight. If I got only liver, how long should I wait? Think I should let him lay overnight? I have tons of yotes on my property.
6-8 hours but I don't think you only got liver with those bubbles. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Wait, but he is dead rest easy. He prolly went to the first cover past the beans and took a nap Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Dead deer for sure...won't hurt to let him lay...he's not going anywhere Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
Definitely a dead buck. If you are worried about yotes go back in the middle of the night. If not he will still be dead in the morning.
Thanks guys. Guess I'll take my chances with the yotes but I'll be there at first light. I'll keep everyone posted. Thanks for the help. It's going to be a sleepless night.
