    Well no luck I was on my hands and knees the whole time found blood some better then others tracked about 200 yards and found laid up spot... after that nothing I did kick up deer around that last spot so I think she's a survivor. .. damn... story of my life no backstraps tonight looks like spaghetti'o for me damnit...

    This was my first sit without seeing a deer this year.

    With this set, I was looking at smoking a swamp donkey or giving a dirt nap to a pig with huge horns

    ;)

    No hunt tonight as we are celebrating my half century ...:rolleyes:

    Home watching football. Furnace won't kick on so I'm waiting on cousin to swing by and give her a look.

    Had a great first morning hunt of the season though. Had a doe and two doe fawn, had the mom as 30 yards, drew on her (was not expecting it to be so rough to pull my bow back, first time that has happened) but she ducked behind the oak leaves giving me no shot. The three went on their way. Saw a red squirrel that looked like a house cat, an actual house cat killing a field mouse, that was cool. Got down, pulled my sd cards. Went to my dad's property, and it's supposed to be a corn field.... I have never seen one like this. [​IMG]
    This is the view from the stand. Didnt see much sign nor trails but I am thinking this could be a killer spot for the rut.

    Got home and saw these.

    Looks like a solid deer. I'm still after my first buck, 5th year bow hunting, have had chances, just haven't sealed the deal.

    Sorry for the long post but I love this thread, hope to be out next weekend.

    Good luck to everyone out today, stay safe... I'm still 0 for 4 this season, but I'm still hopeful that I'll get my first bow kill this fall.
