can't really go after him because I'm not sure where he comes from. there are tracks everywhere. plus this is in a 10,000 acre tract of continuous forest. I am in a clearcut that I thought he would use for bedding but he likes the open woods more. these deer just bed wherever the feel like it. I will still hunt him just in case he makes a vital mistake. I have another camera in there I will pull that card tomorrow. I may have to move over to that area if the pics prove beneficial. well it is time to get heading over to the farm. I never hunted this area this season yet so it should be fun looking at new scenery. good luck to all!! keep you guys posted from the stand when I get there.

on stand now. not the sign in here i was hoping for. maybe ill be surprised. this is the wierdest late season ive ever had.

 

this is kind of like hunting for unicorns or bigfoot. just a mythical creature. lol

29, feels like 24. Wind ENE at 6. Definitely has a bite to it.
We'll see what happens.

 

First day that I am glad that the season is over here.......

High temp was 4*! With the wind making the wind chill -18* to -24* most all afternoon!

Have you ever noticed, the fewer deer you see the colder it is.
Yes, I'm bored.
Nothing so far but a bunch of doves.

 

I thought cold was suppose to make them move!!! Nothing here yet!!!

Wind is right, temp is right. Pressure is really high. That's the only thing I can come up with.

Man what a night! Hunted a farm I haven't hunted since last year when I shot and hit the biggest 8 point I've ever seen but hit him high and looked for him for 2 days no luck well just a couple days ago my trail camera told me why I didn't find him he survived!!! Well to start my good evening I had a chance to shoot a good doe but passed her up since I really didn't feel like cleaning a deer tonight and having to be at work at 430 am! She and her fawn were acting kinda weird like something was wrong well they left the corn pile and tried to come downwind of me and wind me with no luck and right before they stepped out into the field again there he was the wide 8!!! He came and gave me the perfect shot opportunity but had to let him go since its an extended doe own season! well after he left I seen about 4 more deer before dark so I'm looking forward to my week off and tagging a doe! Here are some pics off the wide eight!!!

I missed Big Boy. I don't even have a good excuse. I just plain ole shot shot over him. He didn't even have a clue I was there or that he was shot at. I can't chase him again until the weekend. Wind will be wrong. Sorry no good story.
