That's a dead deer, should be easy tracking.

    Good luck!

No blood trail. Couldn't find any fresh tracks. I had two experienced hunters/trackers and they couldn't find anything. We'll go back in the morning to keep looking.

Details: 17 foot treestand, 12 yard shot, almost perfect broadside, the shot looked like it entered a little high above the shoulder and maybe a touch back, arrow has no guts on it.

    I'm almost sick....

I noticed you are from north dakota, did you have rain tonight? .........arrow looks good. If it did rain, and you can't find blood, maybe grid off for 300 yards to start with. Do you think you pushed the deer at all?

It rained right before I went hunting. I trust my neighbors tracking ability and he said he thinks it was a liver shot since there wasn't any blood on the ground. I'm hoping and praying that we find him.

I don't think I pushed him. After I shot him I tried to listen for crashing, but the shelter belt I'm in is pretty open to the end (the stand is about 40 yards from the end).

I keep replaying everything over in my head....this is gonna be a long night.

If it looks like that, I would hope we could find at least one drop of blood on the ground.

Some friends are meeting me this morning, heading out soon. What a restless night..praying the coyotes didn't find him.

6 doe and one spike on the morning for me, got a shot at the big doe but a vine caught the arrow sending it over her back. Atleast it was a clean miss, gonna be in the same set tomorrow morning hoping to get redemption, don't you just hate that feeling sitting in the stand after a miss
