suspense is killing me! get em fp!

got a new set hung today. this is an old spot from years past that I had luck in the late season. the best part is there are still apples there. this spot should produce. as I was leaving I stopped a talked to the farmer and he might consider leasing his whole farm to me. he even offered to plant all my food plots for me if he decides to lease. I didn't want to talk about it a lot so he didn't feel pressured. I figured I will get farther taking it slow. one thing nice is that his farm borders the new York state line.

Big Boy made it around me and south next to the in-laws house and across the road toward some other houses.

The one doe that was with Big Boy looked to be 10 years old. Those leaves on the turnips were kickin her butt. However, wherever she went he followed her and the fawn.

Nothing from the stand. Made it close to the edge and seen 2 doe in the field, crawled out to the field into some tall grass, ranged then closest one, 50 yds..... Out of my comfort zone I stood up and waved and watched them run and blow....good end to the season with a some what successful stalk....

Isn't it fun trying to make sense out of a deer's movements?

It was weird. He wasn't following her like rut activity it was just like she knows what she is doing so it must be safe following her.

Sometimes it is a wise move to admit that your wife just might have an idea that works.

(not speaking from experience personally of course!)

Crazy thought. I'm glad you mentioned that. I was wondering the same thing but I kept telling myself, nah. Who knows.

Good luck in the morning then at your new set! We have until the 15th.

I wound up having to take the kids home and I'll bet I saw 50 deer on the way there. I will only be doing evening sits until next weekend. I have until the 10th to get it done. Luckily my brother has killed 5 this year so I have meat in the freezer but I would like to get one with the bow.
