As the forecast stands now the wind is supposed to be great Sunday and even better Monday. Hopefully that holds true.

Definitely late for a bear to be out and about.

I shot one last year on December 4 and thought that was crazy.

Just crawled up in the stand. It's been more than a month since I was out. It feels great to be seeing the view from here again. This will be my last sit of the year though. I'm gonna miss it for sure. Come quickly sweet October!

Sat my favorite stand and didn't see anything. Checked my card and this big boy came through on a day I had to work. Figures.

I'm back in the stand again. My wife is the one doing the shooting tonight. We are hunting my dad's small farm since our primary place is all underwater right now. Just looking to see some deer this evening. Not being too picky since she hasn't killed a deer yet this season. Some does would look great today!

That feeling is like trying to describe the taste of salt to someone who has never tasted salt.

Slow going so far. I could hear something walking around in a hinge cut area down the hill from me but it's just too thick to see. This wind is really borderline so it may have smelled us and slipped away.

I had a deer bedded down about 50 yds away in some thick brush that I didn't know was there. I see its white tail as it runs off, so I'm thinking it must have seen me or smelled me and as I'm mentally kicking myself I see a red fox walk out from where the deer was. The fox is lucky he never gave me a shot!!! But at least I got into my stand without it noticing
