Sounds like A high hit in no mans land. How high up were you in your stand? Were you using a 20 yard pin?

If she was looking at you when you released you probably hit high.

The arrow covered in blood, if it was a pass through dead deer.

Meat hits will bleed lightly, but unless the arrow sticks in and lets the blood cover it, hardly ever will they coat the arrow in blood. Normally you will have gristly/fat substance on the shaft and using mechanicals bits of meat in the pinch points of the blade oftentimes.

Maybe a single lung with exit near opposite armpit, I would stick with it, odds are it was a high entry clogged exit, light blood until she starts filling up.

Sometimes you have to stop looking down and start looking up, about head high for the deer. Often times they will spray blood from the mouth and nostrils enough to cover elevated vegetation. Look for brush marks on leafs where her entry side may have rubbed. Hopefully the blood starts flowing later on the trail and you'll find her.

Best advice is unless you see them go down wait 45 minutes to an hour before going beyond the site of impact.

Well I tracked her for about 500 yards and the last 200-250 yards there was only a drop every 20-30 yards until I lost it. I had 3 people and ended up trying a grid search for the body with no luck.:confused:

Take your time. Wait at least 30 minutes before you get down to check the arrow.

I just gotta learn this land Tony. I like this bow area I am in now just have to move a few hundred yds. No scouting and walking into an area blind every time is rough. Now I gotta climb down and deal with these damn spiders.
