Well I finally got a pic of the buck that I let walk twice this season. The first time I let him go voluntarily because I wasn't sure what buck or how old he was. That was dumb of me. Then again on the 10th of this month I couldve killed him but I had already killed my buck. He may be a little better than I originally thought.
The first time I didn't shoot him it was October 10 and it was getting late in the evening and he came trotting by fairly quick. I hadn't had any pics of him and couldn't quite tell how big he was and didn't want to shoot if he was young. He stopped at 17 yards and offered a good opportunity but I hesitated too long. I then but my binocs on him as he was leaving and realized how nice he was. The 2nd time I had to pass was just because I already killed my buck and am allowed to kill only one buck there.
Well she finally got a shot at a nice buck at 60 yards......and missed. She rushed her shot for some reason and hit some limbs. I was shocked when she shot because it was early and the buck was calm and walking into a shooting lane. He was a nice 130ish 8 pointer. Nice mature buck.
I have today and tomorrow left of work then my week off and the final week to get a buck for this season hoping something good happens this week! I'm not going to be picky and continue to play cat and mouse with my bigger deer anything decent walks by its getting an arrow!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Heading out this afternoon. Waiting on the wind to die down some. One of the few days this week that the wind is in the right direction.
He didn't spook too bad. Hopefully we can get another chance at him later this week. Right before dark he came out into the far end of the field so he wasn't worked up too bad.
