You can do it in the oven if you crack it and turn it down real low.

Sounds like a great thing to ask for for Christmas! Next year I'm going to get some for sure. Is there a certain part of the deer you use for jerky?

Good luck to those in the stand today. I have to work tonight, so I'm staying here at the house and squirrel hunting this morning.

Jmann, like Tony said...Making sure it's free of silver skin and fat makes a better product and helps it from going rancid. My last batch used some of the bigger hind quarter muscles.

    Tony's recipe is here:

Back in the blind with my thunder stick. I hope to be showing pics today of a deer, not just blood. Hit a 10 pt last season but not good enough, walked the whole farm for hours till the owner said we were done. That sucked.
    Good luck y'all.

Thanks for that, it, it doesn't seem too difficult to make either.

Idk how but it's actually about done now. Got like a 15x15 section that's not dead yet. Sun came out earlier and must of kicked the calcium in gear, we were almost behind after coming back from lunch. Not bad for almost 70 yards to be bout done before dark in Dec.

He's made it through almost half of gun season, I hope he's smart enough to survive the second half. [IMG]
