sorry for the late update on yesterdays hunt. I seen 5 bucks and 13 does. th2 first 2 bucks I seen were really nice with the 2nd of the two a little bigger. then they separated in the thicket as I was trying to count points and judge the age. they never appeared together again. only one at a time and I became nervous that I would shoot the smaller of the two so they eventually worked away and never offered me a confident shot at the bigger of the two. the one opportunity I had was a split second at his neck and I don't take neck shots. this situation is haunting me for some reason? maybe I am starting to get too picky I don't know? my wife says if you can't mount it then don't shoot it. with this in my mind I am starting to get frustrated. I have seen 28 busks this season and have yet to put one down grrrrr! I keep telling my self the odds are tightening up to my favor. I hope there will be a big reward at the end of this drought?

as for crazy stories for the day I had to listen to a guys walkie talkie throughout the day across the thicket. how annoying! and I only had to flip off one d bag! other then that not to bad of a day.

Just had a 3.5 year old 8 pointer at 7 yards. He should be a nice deer next year.

That's the only mature buck I've ever seen at this farm. The 8 pointer before him was the biggest I had seen before the bigger one came along. This isn't my best place to hunt, but I still like to hunt here. This is a 50 acre property my dad owns and is part of a big hunt club. All the other members kill everything. The last couple of years my dad allowed my younger brother and I to do some habitat work here. The results have been good so far. We have 3 bucks on camera this year that use the property that I would shoot. We keep low pressure on this piece and let everybody else push the deer to our property.

I am focusing more on here now since I killed a buck at my main place already.

Yeah I am. This was at the marble hill property. From what I've been seeing it looks like the bucks are still cruising trying to find the last does to come in heat. I really think that a buck could be called in right now. I would've tried this morning had I remembered my calls.

Good to know! I am planning on being there all day Saturday, and then Sunday morning if need be. Have to take the wife to a Christmas concert at Cape First Church Sunday night.
When u say call them in, are you thinking of an estrous bleat?
