That's a nice canvas you started painting there BackStrap - would love to see the finished work.

Ale, this is our first season (in years) that the change has been in place. I have seen a few buck pictures pop up on my facebook - but, when we spotted earlier in the month all we saw was doe. We'll see. I plan on getting out some after work. Congrats on your tender meat!

Well it was a good morning seen 2 bucks and a doe this morning but nothing came into range! Ice is finally melting here in ks bad thing is that it sounds like it's hailing! Seen probably 10-15 deer on my short drive out here so hopefully I'll be letting an arrow fly finally tonight!!!

Just a heads-up: The few does that morning came trotting by through some brush, I believe they were bumped by a coyote that I saw 5 minutes later. Well, this one doe swung back around to smell the tarsals. Maybe she recognized the buck? Maybe she was the doe he was with when I shot him?
I don't know, but she walked up and gave me a perfect 20 yard shot

No, I didn't kill another!
I was referring to the one yesterday morning, and how the tarsals played a role in me getting that doe

Ok guys....sorry phone died on me and we were on the family farm way up in the hills...so anyway....I took out my best friends boy (17yo) to try and get his first deer...he has been hunting for 3 years (gun) has seen very few deer and hasn't ever pulled the trigger....we sat on the edge of a field that I know is pretty much always good for a doe....this guy comes wandering out like hes the boss of the place making a scene I know the kid has never seen anything like....grunting...snorting...scraping....knocking the crap out of branches....just awesome....finally I told him it was time to shoot....got him calm (as calm as he could be) and handed him my 308....he listened to me perfectly and pulled off a fantastic shot at about 125 yards...so proud of him....the boy is out of his mind with excitement.....this hunt means more to me than any of my own....awesome time

I'm back in the stand again. I'm holding an antlerless tag this morning so the first mature doe that comes by is gonna be in trouble.
