Definitely. We go from gun season for any deer straight in to gun season for anterless. So they stay shocked for a while.
Any body on this thread hunting central Georgia? Just curious how your luck is going this year? I'm about half an hour south of Atlanta and haven't seen much action since mid-October. Missed a decent 6 point then, and now it's just me and the squirrels hanging out. I've been out since 6 this morning...hopefully the tides will turn in another hour or so with the major feeding period coming up.
Unfortunately ican't stay till dark tonight. Sticking it out for another hour or so, i know it's probably pointless but then again i shot my buck in 79 degree weather this month...
I gave up. I did see some good ones on camera the last day of rifle season, which was yesterday. We'll see who made it........
Well I'm back in the stand for the evening only seen one this morning hoping tonight is better....really warm for this time of year though 64 and pretty breezy at 19mph with gusts around 25-30. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Let the fun begin! Happy Thanksgiving Eve to you all! Same spot as last night - its been eventful so far this year so sticking with it.
Indeed it is, thanks! I've been hunting this property for 2 years now and this is only the 3rd time I've hunted this spot. Scouted the creek during Spring turkey season and found a pretty significant couple runs across the creek right here - brought a climber back here in early August (because I didn't intend to carry it the mile walk in) and just had too many other spots that were hot early this year to hunt here.
Went for a walk around the property earlier today in the snow. I missed hunting in the snow this year. Had one day of it and it was only a wet s now that faded fast. We've had snow on the ground since Sunday now and there are tracks everywhere. Walking back from the house, I found this within eyeshot of my bedroom window (probably about 40 yards from the porch)
Poop. Went out for an early thanksgiving sit, hit a deer on the way out and f-ed up the car. Well at least the wife will be happy I'm home early.
Happy Thanksgiving to all my bowhunting brothers and sisters. Sitting in a tree in Ohio and it is warm enough to be late September! Have a blessed day everyone
20 minutes to shooting light just had a small buck (I think) curise through at about 10 yrds. Wonderful
