I thought Tony's nephew shot the buck thinking it was a doe.....didnt know all of that. I retract my statement.

Callin' it. We are having a birthday party for our youngest boy today. He'll be 5 Tuesday. Good luck everyone!

You're a good guy, Tony. Make sure you teach the kid a lesson on being a steward of the outdoors and also one of respect.

the coolest thing I found at that camp was an old train wheel that must have broke. and when they changed it out they left it leaning against an old pine tree. also there was an old iron bed frame that is holding up a tree. i'll get pics when I go back in. can't quit thinking about that place.

Came in to warm up a bit. Had a 6 pointer get to about 30 yards, but vitals covered by bushes and small tree. Needed him to turn right, he turned left. 5 minutes after I am pretty sure I heard 3 loud snort wheezes coming from a thicket about 75 yards away. Cool encounters thus far today. Going back out this afternoon.

You must be in a county without antler restriction?

Chances are that he will be back. If he just trotted off and didn't blow and run. Stay at it bud it will happen. Was that the buck you had a daylight pic of on the 16?

Really thought deer would be dropping today. Coldest temps of the season for a lot of areas.

I ended up seeing 6 bucks and 2 does this morning. Of course all the bucks were in range and the does weren't. None of the bucks were shooters anyways.

He was so thankful and happy we hooked him up and helped him out....his first deer...he got a permission slip from the farmer last night after I told him to, and now he has his first deer...

    We exchanged numbers....all is well

That's good to hear Tony. You probably changed that young mans path as far as hunting goes. He should feel lucky it was someone like you that caught him.

No worries. I'm just use to all the counties around us being restricted. Hopefully you'll get another chance!
