Good luck fellas, after spending the last three days sitting in the rain and wind decided to stay in this morning. Of course it's awesome this morning and woulda been a good time to be out. Way my luck goes I guess.

Feb I had the same thing happen two days in a row earlier this week,it's definitely frustrating to see then just angle off just out of range and walk on by. Hopefully he comes back for ya

Bummer. Rushed shot? Or misjudged yardage?

Seems rut is starting to get better for some. Best of luck!

I know this isn't what anyone wants to hear - but I thank this thread for making me realize even "experienced" hunters miss. I was beating myself up for missing a doe the last night of the season. I can feel all of your frustrations. I couldn't even imagine if it was a nice buck.

Doe with twin fawns got a free pass. Had she been by herself it may have been a different story.

CM, Im sorry man. I completely understand how you feel....did it this year, twice. I went back and counted my last miss was in 2011. Since then Ive arrowed 11 deer and all dropped within 100 yds. Now Ive missed twice in a row.

    KEEP at it!

My face when a guy I work with says he can't find a buck he shot then when asked about arrow and blood says the arrow went in maybe 6" so no need go track him.

Take a paper clip, unfold it, then stab him with it about 2 inches deep.

You guys wouldnt believe the buck I seen leaving.. I got back to my truck and was changing cloths and seen a buck a couple hundred yards away so half dressed I grab my binocs and at first I couldnt tell what I was looking at... the best I could tell the reason I couldnt make out what I was seeing was because he was a HUGE HUGE buck with kickers and stickers and trash all over the place.. he turns a little and I see it... a foot long drop on his right side with what looked like a fist on the end of it! I only seen him for a few seconds. This buck looked like a high fence deer without the high fence.... I still cant believe what I seen and wish I had my vid camera and got some footage of him.

I'm guessing this weekend is going to be the gun hunters year. While a lot of big bucks always drop due to shear numbers in the woods, I think this year is going to be a big year.

Sounds like the rut is a bit stronger than normal for this late in November. No shame in my game, I'll be out there hoping to capitalize. Thinking about picking up a second tag for a doe only.
