I know why there are so many big bucks back in these hills/bottoms... No one can get close enough to them with these swirling winds.

    Good luck all

I hunt a property down there, same terrain. You can try to hunt the wind, but it's damn near impossible

Big ole doe, she was right under me, shot her through lung and she didn't go 40 yards and I watched her die. It's raining so we hurried and got gutted, will post picture when I get home!

Congrats on killing the matriarch! They aren't a push over by any means.

Ugh, looks like I will be hunting late season for real next time out with the crossbow.

I wanted to get in a Thanksgiving morning hunt, but looks like another powerhouse storm will be wreaking havoc on the US again, will be much like this past one but coyld be even more impactful on the winter and severe weather side.

Pretty sure I'll be rained out that morning, and then the cold will invade for early December before the 2nd shotgun season. Might be December 11th before I'm able to get back out.

When you find your nack, you just have to ride it until it busts.....

Generally only happens for me during the first couple weeks of November. When I'm expecting to see deer and second guessing every move. Early season and late season my expectations are way lower so very little complaining

Well I worked 20 straight hours yesterday just to be able to hunt tomorrow. last day before the gun season.
6 Hour drive to the property tonight, I'll hunt tomorrow with the bow , then Friday I'll be at another farm with the shotgun.
The day before gun season has always been good to me, well see what happens.

I'll be swapping out the 100 grain rage for a 240 grain .44 mag.

25 yds or less and probably a smaller wound channel lol
