Well may regret it but I'm getting down. Saw one small buck, but it's starting to clear off and wind is dying down. Might have been good day for some midday movement but really didn't prepare to do a all day sit. Left everything in tree though cept bow so may run home and be back out pretty quick
Just had a buck on the line. Started toward me from about 150 yards out when I grunted at him. Then I lost sight of him. The wind has picked up so maybe he got a whiff of something he didn't like.
Hoping I can tag out with the handgun before Sunday. Not sure I'm ready for temps in the teens yet. Base layers and hand/toe warmers seem a good bet for Saturday and definitely on Sunday. Northern IL/IA and southern WI/MI look like a good bet for some shovelable snow. I'll be happy with some mood flakes with the Saturday sunrise
All set up and ready to go. All the areas I scouted are shut down so I'm hunting a new spot. Scouted my way in and set up as best I could with the wind and deer sign. Down to my last day and half as tomorrow looks like a complete wash as a lot of rain is expected.
Damn all of you still hunting, but also, good luck. I'm extremely jealous and already itching to get back out.
Sitting here trying to decide what to do, wind is pretty gusty but it's supposed to get better as the afternoon goes on. Gonna be a pretty wild ride in the tree so not sure if should even try it. Tomorrow should be better but who really wants to wait haha.
Big storm clouds rolling in......not supposed to start for a couple hours. Hope it gets them on their feet.
