Gun hunting is awesome. I shot a doe once at 1500 yards with a shotty. Never knew I was there. Played the wind perfectly!

The three bucks I've killed have all been with a .270 rifle and within 40 yardsish. This year's deer was 3 or 4 yards.

Can't hunt with a bow in IL during the two main firearm seasons.

I double lunged him with a .270 round and let's just say he ran all of zero yards. Not much of a track job with a rifle.

Took my 9 year old this morning for youth hunt with my 220. Windy as hell so we still hunted for a ways. Managed to get within 40 yds of two does without getting busted but there are two houses on the backside of that wood lot and I won't let him shoot that direction. Still a great morning in the woods with my son, and a great learning experience for him. Back out this afternoon with my 11 yr old. Not sure what my plan for him is if it's still blowing like this.

In Missouri gun season pretty much anything is legal. You just have to use a gun tag.

That is awesome! I'll be honest, I'm not that good with a gun.

This is awesome! Neighbor is across the creek in his box blind in a leafy suit. NO orange at all. At least he had his gun! At least I have my orange hat with me.

Frost hadn't even melted from the grass and I'm 5 miles down the road already.

2100 miles on the odometer and the worst season ever to show for it.

Time to find a lease for next year. I'm done with archery season for this year.

People need to stop *****ing about hunting with a gun. We are all hunters with the same goal... To kill deer.

    0 deer so far.
