I know the feeling. I dressed extremely light as well.

Had something busting through the bedding area about 6:35. No grunting or blowing

One of the bucks would have been a shooter for me but never stopped or even slowed down. Great morning!

This is true...so pick up a gun and REALLY hunt them...still hunt...follow track...cover some ground instead of spending hours upon hours in a tree HOPING they come by...become the hunter... That's what I love about gun season...I actually feel like I am going after them instead of hoping they come to me

for some odd reason me personally i feel like i am cheating when gun hunting. i like being on the same playing field as the deer. when a deer is out there 300yds and gets shot just doesnt seem like he had a chance to bust me.jmo

Are you kidding me?!? Was a full draw on a buck waiting for him to clear some branches but instead turned and worked away. Threw every call at him but nothing.

    What a season...

Then the deer come tearing thru at 100 mph. Great

That's kinda why I like gun hunting too. And it just kinda feels more relaxing to me. Stress about all the details bowhunting and don't have that so much during gun season. Still do everything the same but for me it just feels different. And that's only way to hunt here during that time seeing as archery is illigal.

Seen a doe at 35, didn't see the one at 20. The hunt continues

Why does every deet taken with a gun have to be shot at 300 yds?

That description alwsys cracks me up. I'll be in this same tree in a week probably getting busted at 15-20 yards again.

Going to give it about 45 minutes to see if I can get higher up in this tree for the jump.

Going to head home at 8:30, I am so done with this season it isn't funny

Exactly.... Almost every deer I've killed with a gun was within 50 yards...most within 30

That little blur is the rabbit the dogs were after. Just came running in. Dogs will be back shortly. Currently down in the bottoms where the other stands are.

I got one in the freezer, guess it could have been worse.

Good luck the rest of the day, hear the dogs coming back now
