Just had a couple of does walk by, which is a lot earlier than normal. Nothing following them though.

Had young 8 and spike come through. Also had a yearling run a couple of big circles around me. Been pretty quiet for the most part.

Ok that was weird. Had to pee really bad so I'm letting it fly when I hear the unmistakable sound of deer running towards me. It's one of the does that had passed me earlier. I quickly put "things" away and grab my bow. Be hind her is a weird looking buck with one of his antlers growing sideways and down over his eye. He stops in a clearing and just stands there looking around. Meanwhile the doe he had been chasing comes back and walks up right behind him. He doesn't pay any attention to her though. He stuck around for a little bit and then left. Weirdness I tell you.

    Morning everyone!
I finally made it back from Illinois yesterday morning around 9 AM.
Huge thanks to Tony for keeping you all updated on my hunt! As I'm sure you read it was a very very very uneventful hunt. The first four days like you all know were high 60s to low 70s. Not ideal hunting conditions at all. Other groups with the outfitter that I go to, we're still successful and still saw mature bucks on their feet, but not in the usual numbers. For hunters were able to successfully harvest four pope and young bucks last week in camp. The farm I was hunting unfortunately saw a little movement. Five full days on the stand, I did not see one shooter buck over 120 inches...... Extremely disappointed to say the least. Just a bad year on the farm, half the bean fields were not planted due to flooding, and I could tell from deer sign that It was going to be a rough hunt.

I still have this week off, and a huge honey do list that I'm going to try to take care of today! Hoping to be back in the woods tomorrow and for the next three days. Thanks again Tony, I appreciate it brother!!

Now the doe the buck was chasing just came back through and went in the same direction the buck went. What a little tease she is.
