Well that was fun. I just had a stand off 10 feet away with a small buck in the dark headed to my stand. So I'm walking down the RR Tracks to get to my stand and I could here a deer walking in the woods to my left. I stopped and it was getting closer so I just stood there motionless. The deer walked all the way to the edge of the woods and stood there about 10 feet away staring at me. There is a small incline there so he is Also above me about 3-4 feet. Because he was siloetted I could see a small rack. I started thinking...what if this rut crazed buck decided to charge me lol. So I reached up slowly and turned on my head lamp. He still didn't move. He started stomping over and over. He slowly turned around and continued to stomp as he walked away. I never heard him blow. My stand was only 80 yards from this spot. Crazy morning already.

I'm up. Went from plan A to plan B back to plan A.

Figured other hunters would be here this morning so planned a mirror to yesterday but sitting my smbush stand from the start with 10am switch to the bottoms. Got here and no one else here so was going to switch it up to bottoms all day. They pulled up as I was getting dressed so in the ambush stand.

Said they were headed out about 9:30.

Calm wind turning south. 3 of them are all south of me by a good margin. I'm as north as I can legally get. Hoping the deer steer between us and hit this bedding area by human scent funneling.

I did bump one coming in, didn't blow so thinking maybe a smaller buck.

They said they seen all kunds of deer yesterday morning. Not sure what to think or expect.

    Good luck everyone

I gotta say ole Dan is having the toughest season ever! Been spoiled I guess, I'm usually covered in Deer by now, usually see 25-35 different Bucks a season, I have seen 3 so far. I work my tail off to find them and move in, this season even finding a Doe has been a struggle! BUT that's why it's called hunting! I'm settled in and it's 33 here in southern IN. Just a beauty of a morning!

Need to get it done by Wed. in a lot of areas. Big storm system is going to wreak havoc on the hunting side of it. Severe weather to high wind warnings across the midwest heading into second half of the week

Negative, I didnt go in far. Scrapes all over the trail in front of me. There is also a ditch that runs the length of the prop that stops 100 yds in front of me they rather go around then through it. That's his pole barn in the pic

Yea. Guess just depends on when it's supposed to get here. Seems like it changes day to day. May actually see if I can swap Saturday for Tuesday, and hunt Monday evening and all day Tuesday....
