So just got home, after 100 mile round trip in west central Illinois, 0 dead deer on the side of the road, 0 deer seen in fields. What the hell is going on???
Just an amazing year I'm having but no kills... https://vimeo.com/144810358 Just had a spike and this 7 in front of me. They came off a ridge with the 7 out front I never saw the spike until he sneezed. Lol Sorry for the poor video. He had me worked up... https://vimeo.com/144810778
Should be dead deer Good call to back out Gonna be a sleep less night but should be a quick recovery in morning Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
was out for the biggest portion of the day til I had to pick up the kids from school. saw a 2.5 yr old about 90 yds away that skirted around me. then half hour later I called in another bigger 2.5 yr old 8 pt. passed him up at 30 yds but got a great video of him. this is the same spot that the two big bucks were fighting at yesterday. 4 different bucks in two mornings. all at least 2.5 yr olds. going to give it a rest tomorrow and hunt a different stand, then hit it on Saturday again.
Red neck engineering boys.. Now I just gotta come up with a good story why the wifes umbrella has a hole cut in it... Hmmm Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
Shot was broadside maybe slightly angled toward me, i was up 25 feet he was down in a range so probably 30ft down, right at 20_22 yards, ran off about 40 yards till i couldn't hear or see. I didn't see any green or slime on the arrow, it was dark red and dried on the shaft
I think most of know that feeling.. Best of luck bud. Did you ever give details on the buck? MYbe I just missed it Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
Pass through? How long after the shot was arrow recovery? Backing out was the right choice, I would still probably place a marker 25 yds from where he was shot just to have a refresher in he morning. Things look so different after a nights unrest. Dark blood with leaves falling can be hard to pick back up. Already dark so doesn't do muh good now I guess
