Just had a spike and this 7 in front of me. They came off a ridge with the 7 out front I never saw the spike until he sneezed. Lol

Sorry for the poor video. He had me worked up... https://vimeo.com/144810778

was out for the biggest portion of the day til I had to pick up the kids from school. saw a 2.5 yr old about 90 yds away that skirted around me. then half hour later I called in another bigger 2.5 yr old 8 pt. passed him up at 30 yds but got a great video of him. this is the same spot that the two big bucks were fighting at yesterday. 4 different bucks in two mornings. all at least 2.5 yr olds. going to give it a rest tomorrow and hunt a different stand, then hit it on Saturday again.

Shot was broadside maybe slightly angled toward me, i was up 25 feet he was down in a range so probably 30ft down, right at 20_22 yards, ran off about 40 yards till i couldn't hear or see. I didn't see any green or slime on the arrow, it was dark red and dried on the shaft

Pass through? How long after the shot was arrow recovery?

Backing out was the right choice, I would still probably place a marker 25 yds from where he was shot just to have a refresher in he morning. Things look so different after a nights unrest. Dark blood with leaves falling can be hard to pick back up. Already dark so doesn't do muh good now I guess
