The only time I ever dropped a deer with a bow I spined him

Little scrib buck about 40 ydd away. Might be responsible for the scrape, but not the original rub

That was my first sighting of the year really. First one buddy bumped a small 6 to the field edge, 2nd was yesterday when the big buck busyed out at 1st light. No clue what spooked him

    No does yet

I'm pretty sure that's the only way to drop a deer with the bow...I hate to think that she was not immediately dispatched

Good night! Just saw five sheep and a horse walk along the ridge to my 3 o'clock. I think there's a hole in the pasture fence. Got my heart pumping though.

It's windy here. Luckily I'm sitting in a pine tree so it's helping keep scent down and wind is manageable. Except I think my dryer ate one of my gloves.

Yeah.. I hurried down and got my hands dirty... Not something I will soon forget or ever want to do again. It was my 1st ever deer with a bow and I was using a recurve.

It's amazing what one little scrub buck can do for your psych. Actually feel like I'm hunting finally rather than nature observing. Probably won't see another deer, but that was enough to boost the morale.

Pulled the card on one of my cams on the way out of the stand this morning. This guy had walked in front of it 2hrs before I got there. Would I have shot? I don't know but it's nice to see some bone near one of my stands.
