I think more than anything I'm surprised at no smaller bucks. Usually about now you see them up and about at least in the mornings.

7'ish hours to go lol, I guess if you wamt your vacation to take forever bot seeing anything will make it seem like the longest ever. Be nice to see some mid day movement. I could almost identify leaves on the ground with the moon this morning.

I'm darn tempted to move down to the creek bottom myself. I hunted the first 4 hrs by the bedding. The last 3 hrs by a saddle. I'm thinking of dropping down low the last 2 hrs. ....is that where you are seeing them in the evening Pittman?

Don't count on the wind. Airport reporting SE 9pmh. I'm being hit with SW, W and even NW. My scent is being carried everywhere it shouldn't if I want to see deer.

Either hunt or go home. Hopefully it cooperates later. May be a week early with my vacation afterall.

I think all of us begin doubting ourselves in late October. As you well know hunting on Nov 2-10 is much better than on October 30th. Keep the faith. That is all I know how to do...grind.

I've been in the bottoms most of the day. Where shot my doe and 1st buck last year.

    Not leaving until it's dark

Yeah, I keep telling myself this is Oct 30, it's never this early here. Just wanting to see something, have to toggle airplane mode on and off 10 times to get a signal for a few minutes

Little over 5 hours to go.

Still want to know what spooked that buck and doe this morning. Maybe that had something to do with lack of movement this morning.

He was spooked and ran my direction, but she stayed put, would think if it was my scent he'd have quietly snuck off. Been contemplating that all day. Weird

The two big bucks I have seen so far this year have been in the fields in the bottoms where I hunt.

Back in the stand. I jumped a spike on the way in but that's not really a big deal.

That's OK we don't hunt that spot. I only park the atv there. Judging by his path I bet he is gonna circle back through the timber and bed on the back of my food plot. I will probably see him pop out around 6:30
