All day hard rain here tomorrow as well. I get off work at 7am and I am going to hit the woods in the rain. I'm gonna buzz scout two small 10 acre or so spots I have marked on a map. If I find what I want I am going to let it sit for a few days then hit it. I think it is not being hunted hardly at all.
rain isn't a bad thing. means I can get a little in season scouting in one last time and change some camera cards. this will be the last scout then I will be committed to what I have.
Had two at the corn pile super early but something scared them off hopefully they come back around! It's about 45 degrees here so hopefully that has them up and moving!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
To the big eight I just let walk this quote is to you! "you can't kill great bucks if you shoot the good ones"
I am gonna need that running through my head starting Friday...for the first time in my hunting life, I am hunting a property that has multiple great bucks and many good bucks plus tons of yearling bucks.....
Im not sure if it was the rain this morning or my warm soft bed... but I didnt get up... Ima blame it on the rain! I will be out in the stand this eve tho in the rain.. last time I check I am water proof and the deer are too! *Disclaimer* I will only take really close "high percentage" shots in the rain.. if there is such a thing as high percentage shots when it come to bow hunting
Well I'm out and back at the truck. Only thing seen was two does about 0815. I did see several new scrapes on the walk out. Pretty positive sign. Blessings..........Pastorjim
2 does came at a steady trot right to me as soon as I got set up. Was hoping this guy was chasing them but I never saw another deer all morning
Picture was from Sunday morning (6 am), he hasn't revisited the scrape that the camera is set up on yet so I'm hoping I'll catch him in shooting light sometime soon
Oh and if anyone would care to throw out a possible score on that buck I'd appreciate it! He's definitely one of the big boys around my area. That being said, if a buck around here is 120-140+ he's a monster
Leaving on Saturday, arriving Sunday night! My hunt starts Monday-Saturday. Not sure of my strategy with the warmer temps, and how movement will be affected, and if I should shoot the first 120" that crosses my path or hold out for a potential end of the week front? Supposed to rain here Saturday morning. Sunday is looking pretty good. Then chances of rain again on mon and Thursday, and temps warming back up to mid 50s for lows and mid60-low 70 for temps...
