In the stand in NJ. Not too many things better then this. A little warm. 72 and sunny. Sitting over a bean field. The deer have hit it hard all year. Wind is perfect, strong out of the west. When they step out of the woods they should not detect me. Hopefully backstrap in the pan tonight. Have to shoot a doe first. image.jpg

Left work a bit early... Got home and had to help unload 50,000 baby chicks... On the way to the stand and I realize my release isn't strapped to my bow... Go back and miraculously find it in the weeds... Been in the stand 5 minutes and had a coyote at 30 yards.... Forgot my thermacell and am getting eatin alive.

    Lets hope this turns around.

This evening,4 mature doe(none in range), 9 fawns, 2 yearling doe, 3 spike, 1 - 4pt, 2 raccoons and a chipmunk. No blood on an arrow yet but as you can see looking promising for a doe at some point this weekend. Didn't see any of the big boys. Very odd, we usually see them cruising in the middle of the field eating all the soybeans they can get this time of year. Warm, 74, that might be keeping them down till after dark. Tomorrow is another day. Be in stand at 6:15!

Cool, good wind and a beautiful sunrise! Lots of song birds and some squirrels. No one else out here. Been in stand since 5:50. Gotta love it. image.jpg
