    Passed a nice little 8 pt at first light, then passed a coyote 5 minutes later. Really wanted to blast him, but didn't want to scare any deer off.
    Had the makings of a perfect day, but of course the wind is really picking up again.

    Only 1 deer this morning, pulled a stand on the way out and going to try a new area this evening. Its a small pinch in the woods between a clear cut and a high bank creek with a sharp ravine running thru the middle.

    In the lower 50's but this wind is just nonstop.

    You might be, I called it quits. I pulled the card on my way out, and I have pictures of the biggest eight pointer I have ever seen in my life!

    Climbed down and went up to the truck. Feel a little better, uncle shot at a coyote this morning not a deer. Back in the saddle neighbors are hunting to my west. Can only help as I generally don't expect movement from that direction in the evenings.

    I dont gun hunt but its super windy here.. I have heard several shots down where I hunt. I am worry for the bucks I am after! I have a feeling some of them got lead poison. :rant:

    3 hours left, really wish this wind would lay down but it's not forecast to. Really annoying when a south wind can blow due west.

    Back in my stand for the afternoon sit. Gun season opened today. I sat for 5 hours this morning with my bow and saw 1 deer. I was a nice young 8 point. I didn't want to shoot it so I watched it walk away up the hill on the neighboring property where I used to hunt.

    He hadn't been out of sight for four minutes when a gunshot rang out. I'm guessing he didn't survive.

    Funny thing is that's the "let 'em go and watch 'em grow" group over there. Oh well, what can you do?

    Maybe I'll get a shot at something this afternoon.

    Just got set up in a stand. Spent most of the morning being lazy, walking draws ha, seen probably 5 or 6 doing that and now just waiting it out. It's pretty darn nice out actually. Little breeze but not much. Not expecting a buck but ya never know
