Going to do something different this afternoon. Got some public land that borders us that isn't accessible except through us. Found a big stand of some old white oaks and pines. A little draw leads up to it. Going to sit there this evening.

Well I passed on a 130 to 140 inch 3 1/2 yr old tonight. I hope I can keep that guy alive this year. Hopefully he goes into hibernation during shotgun season. I had him at 30 yards. He wiil be a giant next year!
I also saws little spike and a doe.

Good deal Jacob! I backed out until 930 tonight on a doe that had a serious limp I shot at last light. She ran 30 yards, stumbled then appeared to bed down. Wish I had lumonoks. I waited an hour in the dark then creeped out of the woods. Didn't hear leaves ruffle but not chancing it.

I'll be out there in 12 hours looking like a camouflaged pumpkin. I've had some pretty good luck when switching weapons for the first time.

I'll be back in a little corner of the property that has been my favorite spot up until the past couple years. Hoping with hunters in and out all day and neighboring properties being active I can get a little change in luck.

Going to sit in the lone wolf one final time and I'll probably pull it either way when I'm done. Wind will be calm and then from the SE which will be decent for my location. Rains and freezing rain move in tomorrow night through the weekend so tomorrow is my best chance.

Good luck to everyone else hitting the woods tomorrow, regardless of weapon choice.

Thanks guys I found her right where she bedded. Bumped a fox off her. The fox ripped up some of the ribs and guts so it was hard to analyze the shot but it was partially lung with the liver I think. Quartering her before work in the morning.

Let's see what this frigid morning brings. Set up blind after looking at maps. Not great for a morning hunt but had to based on areas that were closed.

14 degreed with an east wind. Freezing rain advisory for this evening and then near 2" rain forecast the remainder of weekend mainly Sunday.

It's odd, nobody is here yet. Usually about 5-7 hunters. Not sure what is going on.
