Well looks like won't be sitting down tonight. Dang squirrels are running around so much it will be hard to tell what's what.

Bow hunting. They were cranked up this morning. I made a terrible shot. He was on a scent trail and just would not stop. I was all but hollering at him. He hit 25yds and I said screw it I'm taking the shot. Tucked it right in front of the back hip. I wasn't a happy camper at all!! Rage broad head plus the snow made the track job possible. I waited about 5hrs and he wasn't 200yds from the shot. Well it wasn't pretty but we got it done!!

For it being opening day of gun season here in Indiana I am not hearing much shooting going on.

Down to the final 2 hours of my rutcation. Won't be hunting tomorrow, in the mood for some beer and a whiskey or 3 watching some UFC.

Was really hoping for it to snow, but the leading edge is being eaten alive by dry air.

Things feel in place, other than my scent trail, oh, and the gut pile not far.

Only shooting if it's a good buck, so likely won't be doing anything other than enjoy the view.

It has been an unusually slow day , I have been out all day and only seen two deer. It's strangely quite today.

I'm back out finally. I'm strapped in for the next 5 days, then into the gun season.
    Bring it!

Small doe came in about 3:40. Milled through the leaves and browsed on a bush. Could have taken a shot 4 different tines. Was getting so tempted, she's now on the other side of a patch of trees. Think she's the second one from this morning

    Now, bring out the bucks.

She wants me to shoot her. Ugh.

If you look next to the second tree on right. There is stick leaning against it. That's what I used to prop my phone for contest pics of this mornings doe.

She's coming back out in front of me.
