Sitting all day in a ground blind. It is cold and snowing pretty good. This is the last weekend for this gun season. Saw a nice 3 1/2 year old 8 pointer and a couple of does so far. I am sitting less than 20 yards from where Split Brow's shed was laying.

    What a discombobulated cluster bleeper.

Got the doe in the truck, actually had to drive it down. Got back up to the truck and went to check time on my phone. The screen was dim, went to hit brightness bar and it went black. Wouldn't boot nothing. Took battery out and it would get to the carrier screen and black out. Got back in a new stand and the wind was all wrong, so messed with the phone for a bit. Wanted to check the deer in so I didn't have to mess with it tonight. Plus, I need my phone way more than I need to be in stand.

Ended up climbing down and headed 15 mules to my mom's. Get there and the phone booted normally.

So I'm now back in stand trying for a trifecta. Probably shouldn't be hunting this stand again but it is what it is for the wind, or lack there of.

Movement this morning was the best of the season for me. Had I hit that doe better I probably would have headed home, would have never known the bucks were up and about again.

4 hours shot, but I'm back at it

The exit, poked through like I had thought but entrance was horrible. She was actually 15 yards from where I backed out the second time. Went about 80 yds, she looped around behind a bend in the trail so I didn't see her cross it on her death run. Arrow was still in, buried to the nock

Deafening quiet here in Putnam County Indiana. Been out all day and have only seen two deer in the distance. Hope they get hungry and move in the next few hours.
