Permission to track and recover is good.

Thinking I may have hit my sleeve with string or just pulled the shot.

Kicking myself because went from pull the 4 wheeler to her, to drag her up a hell of a wooded hill.

heart sank when I seen the impact and lit knock bouncing away.

Deer were moving this morning though.

Had a lone deer coming in about 6:10. Walking heavy footed so thinking a doe possibly catching scent. Was too dark to see detail but it ended up bounding away a few leaps, then must have walked off.

Doe I shot came in downwind, hit my trail and followed it nervously. She then cut out in front of me, had her 12 yds perfectly broadside but no way to pull back. She then did a 180 and started to trot away. I pulled back and when I hit the wall she heard it and stopped. Facing directly away she started to walk again. She got to where the buck I shot stood and turned to her right to hit the path. She took one more step and I thought the angle was good, although steep.

I'd take it 10 times out of 10 though. Just hit left of my intended target

Here is what I was talking about. No way with this plugging the entrance she bled like that.

Deer are everywhere today. Just had this doe take the same route of the one I shot. Had her at 10 yds. But with one out there that leaves only my final buck tag.

It's either buck or late season doe. 2 others were up the hill to my front right. They blew as I was positioning in case she had a buck with.

Does seem to be alone today.

Took Dayne out this morning for the first sit of youth weekend, he toughed it out for a few hours but with 15 degree wind chills and only one deer sighting we packed it in early. Gonna try again this afternoon.

Another solo doe. Not even a spike moving.

Something tells me I'm in the wrong stand

Almost 2 1/2 hours since the shot. All I can think of is how bad the yotes have torn her up. Hope they slice their tongue on the broadhead

Had a doe almost to a shooting lane but then a dumb little button buck chased her off.

Just seen a big 8. Crossed the path 60 yards upwind. He was moving with a purpose. Grunted but couldn't see if he reacted

Holy crap, bucks are everywhere. Just had 3 on all sides. Of course the one about in a lane was downwind, but so were the two does from earlier. He back tracked. Had his attention with grunts. Tall 8

Lots of deer moving. Nice buck with drop tine was 45 yards away and went the wrong way on trail. He was checking some does out.

Got to get knife and 4 wheeler. Easy drag and buck tag left.

Unless I sneak up on one heading up
