Back in the stand this morning its cold for the south 23deg. Youth gun season started yesterday took my boys out seen a few does and 4 bucks that were crossing the road all to far to shoot. Im going to get in a few bowhunts from time to time but im going to be more of a guide for my boys. Good luck to everybody and try to stay warm!

Had 5 does walk under me. Waiting for the big doe to clear a couple of limbs but she never did. Also had a spike work through.

Just had 2 does run across in front of me about 70 yards out. Tails up. Something had them on the run. My guess is a muzzleloader hunter walking around.

Hey to all of you in the stand. If you're getting bored and you're on Dan's (bloodcrick) facebook list, go to his page for a great laugh this morning. He has the hunting story of all hunting stories this morning! I guarantee you will love it!

Just had a small 8 come through. If the trend continues, the next buck will be a shooter.

    Need some quick advice guys.

Shot a doe at 6:35. She was hard quartering away. Shot entered back, no pass through and she turned quick after the shot and hopped in the thick stuff. Could see my lit nock so know it stayed in. Gave it 45 and checked site of impact hoping for blood. No dice.

Finally found some blood and slowly tracked. Heard a deer bust out and watched white tail leave property. Knowing if it was mine it was gone I continued a bit further.

Found a lot of blood. Had a large frothy bubble. I stopped and started this. I'm going to go a bit further, see if it was my deer or different. Tail was up, thinking different. Did not look like a bed

    Thoughts?

Good morning. Set up for a special draw hunt today. Big deer here. A bruiser was killed last night but hasn't been scored yet. Should be close to 170. Snow geese are keeping me entertained. Good luck everyone. ImageUploadedByTapatalk1416058280.549350.jpg

I personally would back out and wait a while before going further.

I'd definitely wait. Maybe spend that time knocking on your neighbors door and getting the okay to go further if needed.

Back in stand. Was definitely her. Knowing where the deer went that I bumped I followed the trail quietly. Bumped 2 other deer as they were coming into the woods. Did not find my arrow, about 15 feet from where the above pics were I found a 6" piece of intestine.

No doubt she'll be down, didn't realize she bedded where she did or I'd have waited.

With all the blood I think I poked through the opposite side. It's the only thing that makes sense. Intestine, paunch, possible liver, single lung. She was still bleeding pretty good after I bumped her. Going to give it until 11-12, but I know the coyotes will get there first.
