Still not much going on here rut wise. Seen 7 bucks today. 3 groups of 2, so they are still hanging out with each other. And one nice 8 pointer solo. He was about 60 yards out. Tried the can call...nothing. Grunted..nothing.. rattled..nothing. He didnt care about any of it. didnt even phase him. Maybe next week.

Last Friday-Tuesday I saw a group of 3-4 bucks within 100 yards of me. I grunted, I rattled, I even bleated, and nothing. I did see some chasing and I did see some bucks running around with their heads down like they were trailing a doe. Only "Forkhead" really looked like he was in "Rut" stage....but noth the nice big ones. The second best buck was in a meadow grazing with 3 does, not very rut-like?

well at least I'm not the only one seeing the same. Heck when I got home tonight I tried to go into rut with the old lady too and she turned all of my calls down. Maybe the deer and my old lady are deaf..??

Friend text me last night after I'd already gone to bed. Looks like he faired pretty well yesterday. Pretty sure this is a public land buck, but haven't confirmed. Just contained picture, no details

I am running so late. Just had to turn around and go back 5 mules. Forgot I put my Gatorade in the fridge so it wouldn't freeze in the truck.

    Was already 25 minutes behind

Just got settled in for what I hope is a great sit. 26 degrees and slightly breezy. As long as the toe warmers hold out this should be a good hunt.
