Sitting tomorrow out, wind is supposed to be better buy gets even better towards the weekend. Need to get my insulated stuff washed anyhow. Was hoping not to hunt too much of the cold weather this year, but it's 11/11 what can ya do? I'm prepared for it, just wasn't ready. Additional blood will be spilled this vacation, that is a guarantee
I hope the wind is better tomorrow.. there is a heavy 10 or whatever he was and a super tall 8 still in my bottom... they arnt going to kill themselves! :p I need to go get a new pair of bibs as my coveralls have seen way better days.. I was freezing with you this morn bud.
Yeah, the cold wasn't really that bad, I had on all my layers and was expecting a little rain. Ended up getting 3 times the rain that was forecast which absorbed in pretty good. The sun never came out and instead of warming up to near 40 the temp steadily dropped all day with 25 - 30 mph gusts. The rain did me in, but now that the cold is here, rain or not, it's not the same as a gradual break in getting acclimated
It only drizzled on me, but enough to make me damp.. but just the temp with the humidity, then add in the wind... I was cold. I need warmer cloths very soon. Its all down hill from here!
I will probably have a panic attack and mess it up... if I even get the chance... the tall 8 is in my dreams at night.
On second thought, I'm headed to bed and the alarm is set. Come February I'll be kicking myself for the days I could have hunted and didn't.
Thats the spirit cls---im worn out too brother. Hunted all day and didnt see a single deer. Alarm set for 330.
I'm after a clean 10 and not a specific one. Have only had a shot on one in '12 and he was easily 150 maybe into 160 range, shot was perfect only went 3" below his chest Every 10 before and after him has been well out of range and never coming closer.
I have never shot a really big dear (for my standards) I hope if I do finally get the job done it will make me relax a little for the next ones! Im good on the target and does/small bucks... but anything big walks in and I fall apart! I hope you get your clean 10 bud Edit.. well I did shoot the super wide buck in the shoulder, so I have shot a rly big deer... and I do fall apart! LOL
