So far a doe early, a button buck that came to my rattling, a 4 pt that looked like he was looking for a deer after I rattled but it was 30 minutes later., a shooter that was cruising and ignored my calls and an unidentified cruiser I saw when I was getting down to move my stand. Big body but never got a look at his head. My index finger is starting to itch. Hope that's a good sign. :)

All settled in for my last sit with the bow. Starting tomorrow it's gun season, and I will have the smokepole out.

Hadn't been in the tree 5 minutes, and I look up to see a big fork horn crossing about 40 yards in front of me! Grunted at him and nothing. Snort wheezed at him and he turned and started my way, but only a few yards before he turned and went the direction he had been. Hunting over a standing corn field behind me, and crp in front of me.

Really hoping it's early here. For it being November 7th, it is way off pace. 7 years hunting here and it's by far the slowest I've seen it.

Work dropped another bombshell for the holiday schedule today, so I'll be spending the rest of this weekend debating whether to cancel my vacation or not.

Gah, thought I was going to get a shot.

Had a doe working her way towards me. Then the locomotive of the woods interferes. 10 turkey, cutting and scratching their way from the other direction. She hopped in the woods and I lost visual. Turkey head same way so maybe they'll push her back out.

    Final hour has begun

Just hammered a funky racked buck. He's not huge but he's most definitely dead. :-)

Seen 11 on the day. Nothing mid day.

As I was leaving there was a doe and 6 pt and another doe and a big 10 point. They were in cut corn at the end of the drive. Seen about 12 other pair of eyes further out.

Tried to silhouette him against the sky. Didn't get a clean pic.
