Moved. Within 50 yds I found a trail, fresh rub, fresh scrape and a new buck bed in middle of trail. I walked a bit more and when I went to set up I heard a snort. Look up and see a decent 6 pt with a doe. I have wind to my advantage so I just ducked down. They both look for me for five mins but cant find. They walk off and I set up immediately. Best I can do is at least find one hot doe. Not sure if it will pay off.

Saw a doe early and a shooter just cruised by in a hurry. Not sure how big. Big enough. Couldn't call him over. Was about 60 yds.

    Finally, an encounter.

8:40 had a doe and 2 fawns come in behind me. They were heading towards bedding area and hung up. So calm I think they caught scent but never spooked. They walked into a patch of spruce and disappeared. While watching them I glanced towards the bedding area and caught a doe popping her head up half way down the trail. She came down and made her way to where the other 3 stood. Had one shot op but figuring she got pushed from the bedding area I kept switching from her to the trail she came down. Seen a young 1 1/2 pop his head up. 6 or basket 8, never really got a good look at him.

3 hours into my 6th sit restored a bit of optimism.

Wish I knew if they bed deed in the spruce or backdoored the bedding area.

Nothing again today, now back at work. Forecast was way off from what I read this morning when I woke up. Expected 10-15 mph south winds. I left the stand at 830 with 30mph gusts and the 0% chance of rain turned into getting rained on twice. Story of my season so far.

I just let a 3.5 year old 6 point walk at 5 yards. Probably should've killed him.

Up to 6 sightings. 5 doe one buck.

South wind is starting to pick up, debating a stand change. I'll give it a bit longer here, wish I'd see a little more rut activity, would make it a heck of a lot easier to decide.

He is 100 yards away, just checked his trail cam and said a monster 10 pointer has been around. Now I really don't want to leave.

It's been a terrible morning. Saw a very small buck chasing a doe but that's been it. The wind has been constantly changing, making me feel like I'm wasting my time.

Switched stands and pulled cam cards.

Air stash and S5 are not playing well together. Have to wait until tonight to view them at home.

Not very optimistic now, wind is all over and something just seems off with the property this year. Not sure exactly what it is. I won't be passing another doe though.

No deer movement here this morning. It stopped raining about 20 minutes before sunrise and got pretty nice out until around 9 when the wind started gusting. Checked my cams and barely had any activity over the last week. Going from 250 pics a week of mostly bucks over the summer to 21 pictures of a few does and 2 small bucks in a week is a little dissapointing. Gonna be back in the stand on Sunday. Hopefully activity picks up in my area when the rut is in full swing.

You're an animal Brett, I don't know many that are as passionate about hunting as you are. Cheers!

This is why I'm so glad I live next to my hunting property. I wake up 15 min before I need to be in the stand :D

Got in stand at noon. Perfect wind for this spot. Hopefully I can be good enough and control my cough. Seen a doe out in the cut cornfield grazing on the way here at noon. Good sign.

Down in the bottoms where I shot my buck last year. It's a good morning spot and when they are cruising, it's not morning and I don't see any cruising. Sitting in the stand I seen a 150'ish a few seasons ago and made my grunt call sound like a kazoo trying to get him to stop.

Anyhow, it's a good observation stand, shots can be tricky as it's a lone walnut tree, but the location I can see all directions for several hundred yards. If they're cruising this stand will let you know. Hoping to form a game plan if so, but not looking good ATM.
