50 and rainy this morning. A nice 8 was heading towards me alone at 715. When he crossed the creek I drew but he took over a minute to slowly navigate the slope. Once he was up and in range slightly quartered he picked up on me struggling to take the shot. So he galloped about 30 yards, I let my bow down, then he tried figuring out what was going on for a few minutes, snorted, and ran off about 75 yards. Maybe he will be back with a doe Saturday and a little preoccupied.

I've had this happen with the biggest buck I have ever seen. Huge non-typical, stopped counting at 13. Came from behind, 5 more steps and I would've had a 10 yard shot. smelled by bow rope and turned around and walked back. I never leave anything down anymore.

Getting very gusty now, activity has slowed down. Going to wait 30 min, if nothing else im going to move stand 25 yards. This is going to up my chances very much if a shooter comes through! Love being mobile!

Ever notice just how much DOESN'T go on in the woods? Kinda crazy. Other than the buck I rattled in and a squirrel, I've seen nothing.

Group of 3 doe came through this morning. Moving up on top for last few hours. Will be windy but if the big boys are moving that's where I'll see them.
