I wasn't so lucky, the bottom feel out for 90 minutes when I got in the stand. Drying out now, but the gore text is drenched.

Spotted an opossum and a rabbit.

Wow that Bear pic is awesome.. About how far was he from your stand?

And Yancey... My Mother lived down in Ocala (I wasn't able to ever hunt down there) but was told Florida has some real nice Deer... What parts you hunting?

 

I'm in Yulee. It's the upper right hand part of the state that sticks into GA right on the state line. It's the first town you get to coming down I-95 into Florida.

There's only a few good ones down here. They never really get to monster size(body) like the mid west mainly I guess because the heat but every now and again you get one with a nice size rack.

Here's a pic of the biggest I've got out there this year.

 

Gotcha.... I haven't been down that way in over 6yrs.... The Buck on cam looks nice though.... I'm guessing he's on your hitlist right?

 

Yeah if he'll slip up he'll he on the grill!

In the swamp tonight hunting near three big white oaks. I hope the first deer I see tonight is a buck because I'm in the mood to let one fly.

 

Gonna be heading out soon.

 

Has the wind picked up there? Starting to blow pretty good here.

 

Well I changed it up for the afternoon hunt. High in an old oak tree where I usually have more evening activity. Just wish it would cool down. 88° is a tad warm even in UA Heatgear.

 

So jealous it's getting cold, but I do have beer so that helps.

Hey Ruger I am doing some mapy scouting on the Wayne. I am having a little trouble differentiating between the Wayne and pieces of private property spread throughout the Wayne. Is there anywhere I can order topo maps of the Wayne with the pieces of private clearly marked? Did you guys have any issues with setting up camp and not getting around private property? Thanks and good luck tonight.

 

Contact the WNF office, they have maps for sale(cheap). You have to be able to tell them what area you want the map for. We always camp on Utah ridge rd right next to a piece of private land and there are a few open places in that area close to the roAd to camp. Typically we camp there and the. Drive to where we hunt every morning, only a short drive but it beats wAlking.
