So glad I didn't do the all day sit today hoping for the wind to die down. Started at 5am and it's just now easing up as the light fades.

Well went in and got my stand set. All the trees are on the small side so I had to pick the biggest one that is safe to climb and go from there. Got my shooting lanes cut too. Spent about an hour in there but I don't think it'll bother the deer. Can't wait until tomorrow morning!

Really thought they'd be moving better tonight. Saw one doe, two raccoons and two bald eagles. The Eagles have built a nest in that spot since I was in there last year, beautiful to look at but annoying as hell.

I was a little disappointed about only being able to hunt for a few hours.....then I thought anything can happen at any time. Kill!

    What an exciting evening.

Had a buck ruttin around in the woods behind me for a good 15 minutes. Couldn't see him. Grunted him a few times and didn't come. Heard him crash through the woods 5 min after shooting light at 35 yards and headed to the beans to chase does.

    So close.

I always like From the 7th on. Seems like my best Hunts are always the second week.

My wife and I had 3 shooters on the day within 60 yards, but we didn't kill any of them. So I'll agree, it sucked!

The only thing I don't like about this year's second week is the full moon falling on the 6th. Luckily most all of the crops are out, should all be out by my vacation on the 7th. They'll be freshly picked still, but at least they won't be bedding in the corn.

I was really looking forward to tomorrow, but Thursday seemed like the day to be in the woods. Still going, so still optimistic

Same here with the full moon, however I think mid day activity will be better because of it. They may run all night in the full moon but I don't think the bucks will lay low all day, so I plan on at least 5 all day sits that week.

I'm off from the 7th to the 16th. Much like last year I will do all day sits until I put one down. Only thing that will counter that is if I shoot a doe and the temps aren't ideal to keep her in the truck.

Temps aren't looking ideal ATM either.

Can't get any slower by me. Nothing last night, nothing this morning, nothing tonight. Always been feast or famine around here. Can't figure it out. Gotta be feast soon.
