It's afternoon/evening of day 1. Saw No.1 & No.2 hit listers this morning but out of range. Hopefully they'll be closer this evening! Wish me luck!
Jealous bro! Best of luck!! Make sure you post your pics of either hitlister 1 or 2 when you nail him!!
End of day 2 and no luck. Blanked on even seeing the hit list since the first morning, or anything decent for that matter. Crab Claw & BFF picked me off in the stand that 1st morning. One caught a wiff Of me I think and they diverted from their normal path. At least out of shooting range and they haven't been back. Oh well, one more morning to sit and see what happens and then we'll let 'em cool off for a week or so. Kind of discouraging but if it were easy, everyone would do it right! Bow Hunt or Die!!!
Well, dang it can't believe someone has started their season already. Still got a while ( Season here Oct 15th) until I can get out there for whitetail deer... Good Luck..
Good luck. Extremely jealous...your sitting in your stand and I'm sitting at work. 44 days and counting. -Andrew
Update on morning 3 yesterday... I got blown up before I even got in the stand! Barely enough moonlight to see and I'm at the base of my stand putting on my harness and............ I hear a deer running away from the stand about 30 - 50 yards out. It stopped for about 90 seconds and I didn't hear anything. Started putting on my pack very slowly and then 3 more big heavy bounds and a couple big snorts. I couldn't see anything in the distance but had a feeling it was 1 of the 2 bucks I'd been looking for. I only heard one so I climbed in the stand anyway hoping the other one wasn't with him (and maybe would get a case of the stupids) but nothing. About 2.5 hours of sitting with nothing but woodpeckers and blue jays pounding on fence posts and shrieking out. The good/bad news is I will have about 2 weeks until I can go hunting again. My dad will keep scouting and seeing what's happening and probably won't hunt too much in that same area so hopefully that will be long enough for things to cool off. And for all those jealous I'm in a stand now don't worry, when my season is over, your's will probably be starting so the feeling will be reciprocated!
Wow, started already. Whats the weather like there? Here in WI its going to be in the 90s this weekend.
Got to go out a few days ago and blew chance really bad. Walking back to the truck from camp I figured I'd shoot a squirrel or two so with a quiver full of judo tipped arrows I see a shooter fork horned maybe 3 Years old trots passed me 30 yards off the trail without a care in the world LMBO!!! These blackmail are the smartest deer I've seen. He flicked me off too when I was watching him through my binoculars going into the tree line LOL!
