Open day bucks, my buddies kid first deer hunt and kill, he did alright! My 8 point and I doubled up Sunday morning! Great opening weekend, I cant complain!

Not bucks but both deer went to people that never shot deer. First is my nephew Dan, he asked last Christmas if I would take him hunting. I told him to take hunter safety and I would. I sat with him to make sure he was comfortable in the woods, we went out Sunday afternoon and he got his first deer on his first hunt. Second is my friends son Taylor he is 10 and was on a mentor hunt with his dad. Got his first deer and he wouldn't take out a gun he wanted to shoot it with a cross bow. I am extremely happy for the both of them.

One of my good friends from highschool dad shot this guy on Wednesday. I always talk hunting with, heck of a nice guy.

Thought I'd revive this dead thread to brag on my daughter a bit, she's turning into an awesome little hunter. Last day of shotgun season in VA last Saturday took my 7 year old daughter. 25 degrees out and we hunted all day. Trying to cut off some beagles running nearby almost all day and she hung right there with me uphill/downhill, briars, icy creek bottoms, etc. She had so much fun and didn't complain one bit. She's a trooper!! My dad killed a doe, she and I killed 2 more slickheads, and a neighbor boy killed a great last day buck.
